I've Still Got Sand In My Shoes...

I am back, by popular demand. I just returned home to Sacramento last night from a week long vacation. I had a blast, hangin' out in Coronado, San Diego, LA, and Texas, but it sure went by fast! Oh, how I wish I was still on vacation, but alas.

I will let you know all the details of my night with the Dixie Chicks in a couple of days. It was one of the most awesome experiences of my short life. Grad School begins on Thursday, so their goes my life of leisure. While I was away, some great photos of Justin surfaced on the net from the recent issue of Bon Magazine. Damn, he is one fine ass mofo!

VH1 Storytellers - Dixie Chicks

What a pleasant surprise it was when I checked my email last night and was offered to purchase tickets to VH1 Storytellers taping of the Dixie Chicks. It is going to take place on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 in LA. It so happens that I will be on the first leg of my vacation down in Coronado. I bought two tickets, and my cousin Lucy and I are going to drive up from Coronado to LA for the taping. It is great because it is going to be filmed in a theater with about 300 in attendance. There is a pre-party hosted by Grey Goose and gift bags will be given out as well. I hope that the Chicks themselves will be at the pre-party, cause I need a picture with those hot bitches.

Garbage - Run Baby Run

I am THE BIGGEST Garbage fan out there. I have not shown them any love on my blog as of yet. So, here is the rarely seen video for the song "Run Baby Run" off of Garbage's 2005 album Bleed Like Me. I personally hate this video, but love the song. I can't believe that the director, Sophie Muller, would actually produce show a crappy video, but alas. If it is any consolation, Shirley looks great, as usual.

Nornna Video of the Day

In this video, Nornna gives her audience insight into her lazy eye problem, and then attempts to treat her eyes with some sort of eye drop solution. Enjoy!

Shut Up and Sing

From the online edition of Entertainment Weekly:

If you think singer Natalie Maines had some harsh words for President Bush in public, wait till you hear what she had to say about him behind the scenes.

In one memorable scene, from the upon coming release of the new documentary, Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing, Maines watches news footage of the president being interviewed about the furor that followed the singer's on-stage comment that she was ''ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas,'' which resulted in the group being dropped from most radio stations, as well as protests and plummeting sales. ''The Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind,'' Bush told Tom Brokaw at the time, adding, ''They shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out. You know, freedom is a two-way street.''

After watching this footage, Maines repeats the president's comment about how the group shouldn't have their ''feelings hurt,'' incredulous, and then says, ''What a dumb f---.'' She then looks into the camera, as if addressing Bush, and reiterates, ''You're a dumb f---.''

I can't tell you how much I love this fiesty woman. I have been a Dixie Chicks fan even before Natalie joined the group back in the late 90's. I can't wait until November when I get to catch them in concert in Sacramento and Oakland. Keep on keeping on girls, I back you up 100%.

Lunch Break - Gonna Get Me Some FutureSex/LoveSounds

Today is the day, all I hope is that this album doesn't suck.

UPDATE: Well after a quick listen, I am pleasantly surprised. Tracks 3 and 7 are definite singles.
