1)Vacations
I just got back from the Sierra Nevada's. We took our yearly trip to Graeagle and it was full of major fail. The smoke in the air was enough to give everyone early onset emphysema. It was really nasty. Actually all of Northern California that week was really bad. That damn particulate matter in the air.
I was able to make a drive up to one of my favorite places in all of Plumas County, Frazier Falls. After a long and winding five mile jaunt up a one lane mountain road, I got out of the truck and hiked another two miles to the falls. This time I actually went to the edge of Frazier Falls. I have some video of this excursion but alas youtube is being super lame and is not uploading my video. Here are some pictures

Those falls look pretty wild.
The California fires have been on the news almost everyday here in the east.
Those falls were worth the trek! Here's hoping the fires get under control soon . . .
p.s. I still see a lot of Ron Paul signs and stickers down here, too!
I didn't make it up to Almanor this year. Sorry about all the smoke. If you'll recall, last year about this time there was that huge several-day fire @ Tahoe!
